Privacy Policy
Effective Date: May 28, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Racing Calendar (“we,” “our,” or “us”), owned and operated by Randel Corbin, collects, uses, and protects information when you use our mobile application and website. Your privacy is important to us, and we are committed to safeguarding it.
Information We Collect
Racing Calendar does not collect personal information on our servers. We do not collect your real name, email address, payment details, or precise location for use on our backend. The app does send a small amount of anonymous usage information so we can understand how the app is used and where it breaks:
- Anonymous device identifier: A random string generated by the app on first launch and stored on your device. It is sent with analytics events. It is not linked to your Apple ID, your name, or any account, and it is not used to track you across other apps or websites.
- Product interaction: When the app launches or returns to the foreground, we send an event so we can measure active usage and crashes. Future updates may send additional anonymous events (such as which screens are viewed or which features are toggled) for the same purpose. None of these events include personal information.
Information Stored on Your Device
Some information is kept locally on your device and never transmitted to our servers:
- Your saved leagues, custom lists, and notification preferences.
- If you choose Sign in with Apple, the name and email Apple returns to the app are stored on-device so we can greet you and recover your settings. They are never transmitted to our servers. If you also opt into iCloud sync, they are stored in your own iCloud account via Apple CloudKit so the same settings appear on your other devices. We do not have access to your iCloud container.
How We Use Information
- To understand which features are used and prioritize improvements.
- To diagnose crashes, errors, and reliability problems.
- To deliver notifications you have opted into through Apple Push Notification Service.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate Racing Calendar:
- Google Analytics 4 — receives the device identifier and product interaction events described above via Google’s Measurement Protocol. Google processes this data on our behalf. We do not enable Google Signals, advertising features, or ad personalization on our property.
- Apple Push Notification Service — delivers scheduled and real-time notifications you have opted into.
- Apple CloudKit / Sign in with Apple — optional. Used only if you choose to sign in with Apple to sync your preferences across your own devices.
- Hetzner (Germany) — hosts our backend services. All traffic is encrypted in transit using TLS.
Tracking
We do not use the iOS Advertising Identifier (IDFA), do not engage in cross-app or cross-site tracking, and do not share data with data brokers or advertising networks. The app does not show the App Tracking Transparency prompt because no tracking occurs.
Data Sharing
We do not sell or rent your information. We may disclose information only if required by law or to protect the security and integrity of the service.
Children’s Privacy
Racing Calendar is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided such information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Your Choices
- You can opt out of analytics collection by disabling iOS “Share Analytics with App Developers” (Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements).
- You can manage notification permissions at any time in iOS Settings > Racing Scheduler > Notifications.
- You can stop iCloud sync at any time in iOS Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Racing Scheduler.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Effective Date” at the top of this page.
